
Kelly Read
vocalist/pianist
Contemporary vocalist and pianist Kelly Read has been impressing audiences throughout Australia with her trademark sultry, soulful performance style for the past 16 years.
Initially establishing her skills in classical music, Kelly was accepted into the prestigious contemporary music program at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) in 2000, where she studied under industry leaders and professionals such as vocalist Annie Neil, Australian Opera diva Janice Taylor-Warne and renowned Australian composer and arranger Graham Lyall. She has since furthered her studies in pop/rock keyboard, vocals and songwriting at the Berklee School of music in the USA.
Kelly has been teaching and mentoring students for the past 16 years. She has been a tutor at Santa Maria College (junior choirs and one-on-one training), Como Senior High School, Joondalup School of Music, Jodi Marshall Dance Academy and Metro Modelling Academy. Kelly also teaches vocals, piano and theory privately from her home in Bayswater, especially focusing on students wishing to prepare for WAAPA auditions.

Performance Experience
A versatile performer and entertainer, Kelly has covered everything, from fronting six-piece bands “Soul Corporation” and “Hot Chilli” to performing in more intimate, solo, duo and classical trio settings. She has held long term residencies at high profile venues such as Crown Metropol Hotel, The Rendezvous Hotel and Pullman Bunker Bay Resort Dunsborough, as well as regular wedding and function appearances.
Her repertoire is always evolving and covers a diverse range of musical genres from cool stylish jazz to hip acoustic country, blues and pop rock classics.
